Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Senior Social Worker to join Ward 7 – Women’s Mental Health Unit.
Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne’s rapidly growing outer north.
Services are provided through our six main campuses: Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospitals Centres and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, Mernda and Coburg.
This role requires an experienced and compassionate Senior Social Worker who is passionate about supporting women experiencing acute mental health challenges and complex psychosocial needs. This role is responsible for providing advanced psychosocial assessment and interventions, discharge planning, family and carer engagement, accommodation and community liaison, advocacy, and leadership within the social work team. The successful applicant will also provide supervision and support to junior staff and students while contributing to service improvement, trauma-informed practice and multidisciplinary care planning.
