Job Title: Early Childhood Teacher
Salary range: $80,000 – $90,000 + Superannuation – depending on skill level
Job Closure date: 30 days
About This Role:
Our client is a well-established early learning provider committed to nurturing children’s growth through play-based learning and holistic development. With purpose-built facilities and a team of dedicated educators, they create warm, inclusive environments where children feel safe to explore, learn and thrive. Their philosophy emphasizes emotional wellbeing, creativity and foundational skill-building during these crucial early years.
We’re seeking a nurturing Early Childhood Teacher to join their team. This role goes beyond supervision – you’ll actively contribute to children’s developmental milestones while fostering their curiosity through engaging, age-appropriate experiences.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Curriculum & Pedagogy:
• Design, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive educational program aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the service’s philosophy.
• Employ intentional teaching strategies within a play-based learning environment to foster cognitive, social, and emotional development.
• Lead engaging learning experiences across key domains, including literacy, numeracy, creative arts, and physical activity.
Assessment & Documentation:
• Conduct detailed observations and use critical reflection to assess children’s learning and progress against individual and group goals.
• Create rich and detailed portfolios and learning stories that make children’s learning visible to families and colleagues.
• Use documented evidence to plan forward and ensure a dynamic, responsive curriculum.
Leadership & Mentorship:
• Provide guidance and support to other educators within the room, modelling best practices in early childhood teaching.
• Contribute to a collaborative culture of continuous improvement and reflective practice among the teaching team.
Family & Community Partnership:
• Build strong, respectful, and collaborative partnerships with families through formal and informal communication.
• Lead family-teacher meetings and discussions about child development and learning goals.
• Actively participate in community events and centre initiatives to strengthen community ties.
Compliance & Professionalism:
• Ensure all practices meet the National Quality Standard and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment for all children.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and contribute to the service’s quality improvement plan.
Skills & Requirements:
• A Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (or ACECQA-approved equivalent) is essential.
• A current and valid Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) Registration.
• Proven experience as an Early Childhood Teacher within a long day care or similar setting.
• Deep knowledge and practical application of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standards (NQS).
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for building relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
• Current First Aid, Asthma & Anaphylaxis Certification (HLTAID012).
• A valid Working with Children Check and National Police Check.
• Proof of up-to-date vaccination status as per service policy.
Why Apply?
This is more than a job – it’s an opportunity to shape young lives in an environment that values educator wellbeing as much as child development. You’ll receive:
• Above-award wages for qualified candidates
• Paid professional development opportunities
• Supportive leadership team with realistic expectations
• Purpose-built facilities with quality resources
If you’re ready to make your mark in early childhood education with an organisation that values your expertise, we’d love to hear from you.
Please note: We are acting as recruitment agents on behalf of our client. Employer details will be provided to shortlisted candidates.
