Pastry Cook Black Swan Bakehouse – Midland, WA Permanent – Full Time $75,000 – $85,000 plus Super
About you: We are a family owned bakery, with 29 years’ experience in the baking industry. We specialise in artisan breads and in-house made pastries, cakes and pies.
All our cakes and pastry products are made using the locally sourced ingredients. We are looking for a qualified pastry cook with a minimum of 2 years of experience who possesses a strong work ethic with excellent organizational skills and is reliable and prepared to work early mornings.
About the Role: The business is currently looking to acquire a full time, highly skilled, Pastry Cook to perform duties that include but not limited to the following:
- Lead and oversee the production team to produce high quality gourmet products with consistency, within specifications and required time frames
- Support, inspire and communicate effectively with team members to create a positive work environment
- Checking the quality of raw materials and weighing ingredients
- Prepare and bake a variety of cakes, pastries
- Follow recipes and preparation procedures precisely
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Assist with other baking tasks as needed
- Preparing pastry fillings
- Work collaboratively to develop new products
- Manage production, work flow and time management of department
- Ordering, managing and maintaining ingredients and stock levels
- Create/update information sheets for shared team knowledge
- Emptying, cleaning and greasing baking trays, tins and other cooking equipment
- Create, make and bake a variety of gourmet savory and sweet desserts and package for retail sale such as brownies, crumbles, cheesecakes, muffins, assorted slices along with pre baked breads and pastries
About You:
- Relevant Australian qualification or Overseas equivalent
- Proven experience for 1-2 years in similar settings
- Skills, enthusiasm, and commitment to making quality products
- Ability to commit to start early mornings
