The Speech Pathologist role will be based in Kununurra or Broome on a full-time basis (with the Broome-based position delivering the program to Kununurra via FIFO). You will play a crucial role in delivering early childhood support services to Aboriginal children up to the age of nine who are experiencing developmental delays and/or disabilities. This position requires a culturally sensitive, family-centred approach to speech pathology services that cater to the unique needs of Aboriginal families in the Kimberley region. The successful candidate will work cohesively with the Kimberley Supports multidisciplinary team and community organisations to provide high-quality interventions, support, and advocacy for families.
The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Speech Pathology and hold eligibility for membership with Speech Pathology Australia. A minimum of two years of clinical experience, particularly in assessing and managing communication difficulties in children, is essential. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to family-centred practice and the ability to work collaboratively within a transdisciplinary model.
