About the role
The Section Manager Development Control and Environmental Protection plays a critical role in ensuring the effective delivery of Council’s functions related to development control and environmental protection. Reporting directly to the Unit Manager, this position involves leading a dedicated team, managing operational activities, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
Key activities
- Lead and oversee development control and environmental protection operations to ensure effective service delivery and compliance.
- Drive proactive programs and operational improvements that deliver strong community and environmental outcomes.
- Manage complex regulatory matters and stakeholder engagement while providing high-quality customer service and legislative advice.
Qualifications
- Degree qualification in Environmental Health, Environmental Management, Environmental Science, Building Surveying or relevant field combined with solid contemporary experience, combined with ongoing professional development.
- Current C Class Drivers Licence.
Salary and progression
- The commencing salary for this position is from $130,213.91. Central Coast Council also provides progression opportunities for employees to progress up to the maximum salary of $156,530.54 on completion of assessment of skills and performance plus 12% superannuation.
- We have a permanent full-time role available
- This role will be able to access a 19-day month with RDO
- We are able to offer hybrid and flexible working conditions for this role – 2 days from home and 3 days onsite
- This role is located at the Wyong Administration Building
Vehicle
A leaseback vehicle is provided in this role for official duties and private use and your choice of vehicle will be provided when one becomes available in accordance with Council’s Vehicle Policy. In the meantime, an alternate pre-used vehicle is temporarily applied for this position due to ongoing issues with supply for new vehicles.
