Your Position at St John of God Bendigo Hospital
casual Registered Nurses to join our Perioperative team, specialising in Anaesthetics, Scrub/Scout, and PACU. In this role, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive patient care, as well as coordinating and supervising care delivered by junior staff and students. You will play a key role in supporting surgical teams, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining a high standard of clinical care.
About the role:
- Work across a supportive perioperative team covering 7 theatres (all specialties except cardiac)

- Collaborate with multidisciplinary surgical teams

The Position:
- The overseeing of total patient care.
- Being aware of all patient’s needs, conditions, and progress.
- Being in contact with patients throughout the shift.
- Ensuring all patient needs are met.
- Involving patients in their own care and decision making.
- Ensuring nursing care is carried out and documented using nursing history, care plans and / or care pathway.
- Ensuring medical treatment requests are carried out and documented properly, consulting with doctors if unclear.
- Ensuring that nursing activities are planned and carried out in an organised manner.
- Maintain & continue to improve technical skills such as the interpretation of ECGs, insertion of intravenous cannula, chest pain management, & other skills relating to Critical Care.
You will have a registration with Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse and demonstrate ability to use his / her initiative, reliability and thereby require minimal supervision and guidance.
To succeed in this role, you will bring demonstrated experience in Anaesthetics, Scrub/Scout, and/or PACU, along with strong clinical judgement and the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.

The Benefits:
- Salary: $51.70 to $65.25 per hour, (casual loading included) plus 12% superannuation
