Exciting Leadership Opportunity – Deliver Landmark End-of-Trip & Workplace Fit-Out Projects
I am partnering with a leading design-and-build business to recruit a Head of Projects for their Sydney operations. This is a unique opportunity to lead the delivery of high-quality end-of-trip facilities and modern workplace storage solutions for commercial buildings.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Managing Director, the Head of Projects will take ownership of project execution across Australia, ensuring every project is delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standards. You’ll lead a small, high‑performing team, collaborate closely with builders and supply partners, and implement best‑in‑class delivery processes. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on ownership, enjoys solving complex delivery challenges, and is passionate about operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop the Delivery team to consistently achieve outstanding results.
- Translate project pipeline forecasts into actionable delivery plans, resource allocations, and project setups.
- Review and negotiate contracts to ensure scope, timelines, and risk are clearly defined.
- Establish sequences for design, procurement, manufacturing, and site activities to ensure smooth delivery.
- Monitor cost performance, variations, and progress claims to maintain profitability and financial accuracy.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, tier 1 builders, consultants, and supply partners.
- Lead the continued transition to outsourced manufacturing and third‑party logistics.
- Support integration of ERP and project‑management systems to improve visibility, reporting, and efficiency.
- Refine delivery processes, tools, and documentation for efficiency and repeatability.
- Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement across the team and partners.
- Oversee shop drawings to ensure accuracy, coordination, and compliance with program requirements.
- Deliver a wide range of projects, including: Custom workplace storage and locker systems with integrated power and charging points. Projects across premium office fit‑outs, redevelopments, and sustainable commuting initiatives. State‑of‑the‑art end‑of‑trip facilities with bike parking, lockers, showers, and change rooms.
About You
- Extensive project management or delivery leadership within construction or fit‑out, ideally with joinery experience.
- Experience engaging with Tier 1 and Tier 2 builders on complex projects.
- Strong capability in contract setup, sequencing, and managing delivery risk.
- Proven ability to manage cost, program, and commercial performance.
- Deep understanding of shop drawing processes and design coordination.
- Skilled communicator with experience leading small teams and external delivery partners.
