About us
The Chinchilla RSL Memorial Club Inc, Chinchilla QLD 4413 provides a wide range of entertainment, meal, and function services to our local community. Day-to-day operations require food service to our bistro, bar area and multipurpose function rooms. We are seeking a Chef with a can-do attitude, focus on safety, and a passion for excellent food and service to join our kitchen team.
Qualifications & experience
- Australian recognised Commercial Cookery Qualification
- Minimum 2 years relevant experience
- Must be competent and versatile across all kitchen operations including deep fryer, pans, grill and cold larder
- Ability to work nights, weekends and split-shifts
- Ability to work effectively within a team
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and work unsupervised
Tasks & responsibilities
- Ensure efficient and timely food preparation and delivery of meal services
- Plan menus and food preparation issues with managers or head chef
- Support and participate in the implementation and management of the Food Safety Program, including actively identifying hazards, and recording incidents
- Liaise with head chef or managers on function requirements
- Train and supervise cooks, kitchen hands and other kitchen staff
- Clean, sanitise and maintain cooking utensils, equipment and food preparation areas
- Ensuring all OH&S compliance is achieved, adhere to protected work practices and secure food handling procedures
- Contribute to workplace culture by displaying high levels of customer service and contributing ideas
- Follow correct safe handling techniques to transport and store food items
- Knowledge of chemical handling
Pay: $78,447.00 per year
