St Mary’s College, Ipswich is a close‑knit Catholic secondary college committed to the education of young women in the Mercy Tradition. About The Opportunity
- Lead the designated program in the school.
- Supervise teachers engaged in the program throughout the school.
- Induct new teachers within the program (or supervise the induction where it is undertaken by another experienced teacher).
- Monitor program outcomes for students and address areas of concern through appropriate interventions.
- Coordinate the work of staff engaged in delivering the designated program in the light of the values and ethos of the school.
- Regularly communicate with stakeholders (students, parents, school staff and other personnel) to ensure the smooth operation of the program.
- Organise program activities including resources, transport, operations, staff, etc.
- Keep abreast of best practice in the program area through on-going professional reading and research and providing for the professional learning of staff in line with these developments.
- Contribute to the leadership of the school through active participation in staff and middle leadership meetings.
- Manage financial and material resources within the area of responsibility including the formulation of budgets and the expenditure of allocated funds.
About You
- Eligibility to work within Australia for the period of appointment.
- Be a committed, practising Catholic, or in an ecumenical school, a committed, practising member of one of the faith traditions represented in that ecumenical school.
- Experience in school leadership, or a role providing support and leadership to Catholic schools or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated experience in leading academic, cultural, outreach, or sporting programmes.
- Proven ability to supervise and support teaching staff across a school setting.
- Strong organisational skills to coordinate programme logistics, resources, and operations.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with students, parents, staff and external partners.
- Capacity to build and maintain partnerships with external organisations to enhance programme outcomes.
- Commitment to the values and ethos of the school in all aspects of programme leadership.
- Ability to lead professional learning aligned with current best practices and research.
- Active contribution to school leadership through participation in staff and leadership meetings.
- Competence in managing budgets and material resources responsibly.

- Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.
- Hold a current QCT registration.
